A wildlife rescue organisation is concerned about a rise in animal cruelty.
East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service (WRAS) said a “worrying proportion” of their 6,600 casualties each year are down to acts of cruelty, both deliberate and accidental.
The rescue group said wildlife crime is often “overlooked or under-reported”, meaning WRAS is “left to deal with the aftermath”.
